Atal Sarovar is one of the major lakes identified within the Rajkot Smart City development plan for creating an interventional planned water-front development which offers an ecologically integrated social and recreational public realm. Spread over 75 acres, it hosts numerous experience zones for citizens of varying ages & social groups, creating a vibrant urban space which is also the citizens interface with nature.
The arrival plaza extends into the water’s edge, creating viewing decks for open-air performances and musical fountain displays, while an elevated walkway leads to a bird-park island. A promenade encircling the lake for walkers and joggers.
